Ronny Boey is a clinician, researcher and lecturer since 1980 specialized in stuttering. He did his PhD at the University of Antwerp in 2008 with research on the epidemiology and phenomenology of stuttering and the long-term effects of social cognitive behavioural therapy. He is a BAP post doc researcher at the University of Antwerp Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

He
publishes manuals and articles on the phenomenology of stuttering, diagnostic procedures and tests, and social cognitive behavioral therapy. Since 1994 he organizes the post academic specialisation programme in stuttering of CIOOS in collaboration with UZ Antwerpen and various training activities.

Ronny Boey is
chairman of the Center for Information, Research and Training on Stuttering (CIOOS). He founded the Centre for Applied Behavioural Therapy in Speech Therapy (CTGL) and organises training sessions. Since 1978 he has been active in the Flemish Association of Speech Therapists (VVL) of which he is president and holds various positions, including chairman of the Scientific Council Scienti-L, member of the convention working group and mandatary in various committees at the NIHDI and the government, at the FVB Network for Independent Healthcare Providers (NZZ). Ronny Boey is a board member of Evikey. He leads the Centre for Applied Behavioural Therapy in Speech Therapy (CTGL) and organises training courses. He is a member of ASHA and of of the International Fluency Association (IFA). He serves on scientific advisory committees e.g. Oxford Dysfluency Conference (ODC), European Speech and Language Therapy Association (ESLA)or in the context of FWO research projects at UGent and KULeuven.

He is a
guest speaker and guest lecturer at various universities: Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), Université de Liège (ULg), Université de Mons (UMons), Université de Genève (H) and in stutter training programmes of the Union Professionnelle des Logopèdes Francophones (UPLF), the Association Scientifique et Ethique des Logopèdes Francophones (ASELF), London Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (UK) and at various national and international conferences (IFA World Congres, Oxford Dysfluency Conference, ECFS, NVST, VVL, UPLF, ESLA).

In 2017 R. Boey and H. Niessen were awarded
the prize of the Flemish Association for Speech Therapists for the innovative scientific work in the field of diagnostics of dyslexia and for the lifelong publications in the field of stuttering for R. Boey.
